What’s new about what you’re making? How is it different?
I helped invent the restaurant reviews by people like you marketplace in 2004, people love food and this was always my goal to build a search engine for the tongue. We’re a food competition.
How big is the market?
460 billion is spent on dining out alone, combine eating at home and it’s a trillion dollar marketplace.
How do you acquire customers?
People love to invent and people love to brag. Its a food competition with winners each month. Think about it as a Miss or Mr. Universe for food.
How will you make money?
We charge a small fee to submit your photo into the competition. All members who submit or not are the judges in all the categories. They might submit a steak photo, but also have opinions on other food items they don’t curate or create. Members who don’t birth new cuisines are welcome to share their votes of approval with authority just as strong as the creators themselves.
What’s your biggest risk? What keeps you up at night?
Getting the programming done on three platforms, html, android and iOS and making it’s non gameable. Distributing the cash prizes and organizing local gatherings to sample and discover the inventions.
What do you understand about your business that others don’t get?
As an artist, programmer and business person I recognized that every detail is important to making people happy. You need to let people express there creations in a safe environment, you need to make the marketplace trustworthy and you have to earn a profit managing the marketplace while kicking out the cheaters. This is like a currency, it will invent new industries, new products, start new trends and mint new celebrities all from the creation and celebration of food. Our key to success will be clear rules and unbiased transparent mechanics to crown winners.
